I woke up at 5.30am today drank (quickly drank) my morning coffee and started todays yoga practice. Boy oh boy it was a sweaty one… within the first 10 minutes of my practice, beads of sweat dripped down my neck (yum.) I got very hot very quickly and really felt my muscles work today.
My practice lasted for about 50minutes today… I know right!! shamazing!!
I started with 5 rounds of both surya namaskara (sun salutation) A and then B taken from the traditional gruelling ashtanga yoga practice. Although before this I will always gently warm up my body and wrists by some simple stretches and movements… I also ended my practice with the ashtanga closing sequence… as I believe it is nice to warm up the body and focus the mind and, also finish off my practice locking in the energies before savasana 🙂
During the peak of my practice my main focus was building the strength of my upper body and core. I am so determined to over come my fears with inversions and arm balances… I practiced my first ever wall walk today… scary stuff but I tried 😉
